BSNL put its hands as an entrant into the increasingly competitive market for the tablets by launching three tablets in New Delhi.
Three Penta TPAD IS7O1R, WS704C and WS802C, made by Noida-based Pantel are now available in market for usage and ready to beat the Aakash tablet that made by Datawind, promoted by a Canadian India.
Recently govt. has ordered more than thousands “Aakash” improved version to provide high networking services at price of Rs 2,250 for students.
As targeting the entry-level segment, BSNL fix the price range of three tablets at Rs 3,250, Rs 10,999 and Rs 13,500, high in comparison of Aakash, the reason may be of technical specifications.

BSNL-Wimax deal: Fresh raids by CBI in Tamil Nadu
Continuing raids in nine states including Chennai, Delhi, Kolkata and Ambala over the telecom scandal, the Central Bureau Intelligence has charged a fresh case BSNL and Starnet Communications, allegedly beneficiary which got franchise, on allegations of making discrepancies in a Wimax deal.
As per CBI report, teams of CBI officials allowed to go for search the residences of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) officials and the officials of Starnet in different nine locations across Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai and Gurgaon.
The senior executives of BSNL were signed agreement over the Wimax deal with Starnet Communications although they did not fulfill eligibility criteria. In a recent reports, it is announced that the Telecom major Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited has extended the ‘Choose Your Mobile Number’ plan to all other parts of the country.
According to reports, the chairman and managing director of the public sector company, Mr. RK Upadhyay, inaugurated the plan, CYMN, allover the nation at a function held here on Friday.
Further, the telecom major BSNL rolled out the new plan in Andhra Pradesh on November 1 which drew great response from customers crosswise the state which forced the telecom major to launch the plan across the nation.
