Acer to launch budget-friendly ‘Iconia B1-A71’

Acer, the high end devices making company is seeking to make entry in the budget-friendly tablet market as will be launching a new 7” Android tablet in 2013.

As per leaked media information, the title of Acer’s new upcoming tablet would be ‘Acer Iconia B1-A71’, is likely to debut at the CES event in January 2013.

The cheapest tablet will be available in market at price of $99 and is likely to take directly compete against Asus’s ME172V, a rumored budgeted device which would be a Nexus tablet.

Acer Iconia B1-A71will be coming with package of Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean , a 1024 x 600 pixels touch screen with 169 ppi. The processor would be of a dual-core 1.2 GHz Mediatek installs with PowerVR SGX 531 graphics.

Over the Android updation, source said that as the devices hitting the streets, Jelly Bean version would be upgraded.

On additional features, rumors are that 7” Acer tablet is likely to come with 512MB RAM, 8GB of storage which expandable via a microSD card slot and for connectivity there would be Bluetooth, GPS, WiFi options.

With a launch of a $99 tablet from Acer, the company is definitely applying a smart move that will surly change the phase of competition with market dominants of Amazon’s Kindle Fire and Google-branded Nexus tablet.
