Azad Maidan Violence: Police arrests 19 more rioters

Amid Raj Thackeray’s protesting rally at Azad Maidan against Mumbai Police and government losing hands over August 11 riots in Mumbai and also Assam ethnic riots, police reported that toll of rioters has continuously increased reached at 43 as it has arrested 19 more rioters being alleged to create panic the Azad Maidan violent protest.

According to official source, the arresting rioters alleging to violent the various parts of Mumbai will presented before local court tomorrow, 7 or 8 of them have a criminal record.

While two out of them identified as Niyazuddin Shaikh from Wadala and Mohammed Hussain Ansari from Kurla. On basis of CCTV footage in which the two were shown rioting along with the mob that indulged in destruction of property were remanded by court to custody of police till August 28.

There was a rift between protesters and police. The Protesters were attacking women constables, hacking media reporters, damaging cameras, fired buses, police vehicles and pelting stones on police.

On 11 August incident of violence at Azad Maidan, two were dead and 63 injured, including policemen when a protest rally called against Assam ethnic riots and Myanmar turned violent.
