BJP refuses BSP, Congress plea on quota Constitution Amendment Bill

Promotion Quota 150x150 BJP refuses BSP, Congress plea on quota Constitution Amendment BillThe UPA government seeks to debut the Constitution Amendment Bill in Parliament Monsoon Session today, the Bill for Promotion Quota for SC/STs in government jobs, was approved by Union Cabinet yesterday.

To introduce the Bill in the Rajya Sabha that would leave the middle class unhappy, seems to be a move of govt. to make functioning of Parliament which has been disputing by BJP since beginning of session, atleast from 10 days over the coal allocation scam and turning their focus on PM’s resign.

After holding three hours meeting by top brass of Opposition, BJP claimed that the act to pass the Bill in Parliament is the self act of Congress-led government to divert attention from Coalgate and accused for dividing the opposition by using Promotion Quota.

A total of two-third majority of the members vote in both the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha will be required by Bill to pass in Parliament, but the Samajwadi Party’s Mulayam Singh Yadav is opposing it and warns to protest against Cabinet.

Chances of Parliament Session to wash out are high as BJP wants passage of Bill and also sent for review in parliament committee, but Congress opposed, raising controversy more and staying the BJP in mood not to allow Parliament to be in order.

Meanwhile, BSP’s Mayawati is trying to push up House to be functioned and for that she met with BJP top brass and also expressed her intense not to interfere reservation in promotion for OBC, supporting SP.

If the bill is passed in the Rajya Sabha today, then it go in the Lok Sabha on Thursday to get pass out, which could be against the SC rule which had four times cancelled the appeal of this Constitution Amendment.
