Pope’s Ex-butler sentenced to 18 months in jail, spare house arrest

Paolo Gabriele, Pope Benedict’s former XVI’s butler convicted on Saturday on charge of fraud by stealing crucial as well as private documents of the pope and publishing them with help of journalist Gianluigi Nuzzi in a book.

Gabriele who found guilty over the case in Vatican City will sentence to 18 months in an Italian prison, staying under house arrest in his Vatican apartment.

LPG price goes up by Rs 11.42, fuel price may too

Ready for defamation case if charges against Vadra are false: Arvind Kejriwal

In yet another crackdown, the leader of India Against Corruption [IAC], Arvind Kejriwal has today said that he is ready to face a defamation case if the corruption charges levied against Robert Vadra are proven false.

Robert Vadra is the husband of Priyanka Gandhi and son-in-law of Congress president Sonia Gandhi.

Talking to media in national capital, Arvind Kejriwal said, “I am ready to face defamation charges if the corruption charges against Robert Vadra are proven wrong. Why is the Congress silent on the merits of the case.”

Geetika Suicide Case: Kanda. Chadha charged with abetment to suicide

According to latest news, the prime accused in the Geetika Suicide Case former-Haryana Home minister Gopal Kanda and his close aide Aruna Chadha were on Saturday charged with abetment to suicide, criminal intimidation and destruction of evidence.

Reports have said that the court took cognizance of the chargesheet and a case was filed under Sections 306, 506, 201, 467, 468 and 471 of the Indian Penal Code and 34/66 of the IT Act.

Imran Khan leads protest against U.S. drone strikes

Former Pakistani cricketer and opposition politician Imran Khan led a protest against the U.S. drone strikes in Pakistan’s tribal territory bordering Afghanistan on Saturday.

The former cricketer along with his party supporters and several Western anti-war activists is likely to lead a procession into the South Waziristan tribal district nearly 325 kilometres from Islamabad.

Turkish army replies back fire after Syrian mortar strike

Amid Syrian violence in Damascus carried forward to its northern neighbour, Turkey as the Syrian President Bashar al-Assad’s troops shelled on Turkish territory, in retaliation for a mortar attack killing five civilians including women and children.

As per reports, the Syrian army has operated its second motor attack on Friday, and the Turkish military retaliatory returned fire attacks and created violent strikes in the cross-border affected area so far due to Syria’s conflict which killed 180 people.
