Ready for defamation case if charges against Vadra are false: Arvind Kejriwal

In yet another crackdown, the leader of India Against Corruption [IAC], Arvind Kejriwal has today said that he is ready to face a defamation case if the corruption charges levied against Robert Vadra are proven false.

Robert Vadra is the husband of Priyanka Gandhi and son-in-law of Congress president Sonia Gandhi.

Talking to media in national capital, Arvind Kejriwal said, “I am ready to face defamation charges if the corruption charges against Robert Vadra are proven wrong. Why is the Congress silent on the merits of the case.”

He was talking to media during the launch of what he termed as “bijli-paani satyagraha”. Further, he also urged people not to pay electricity and was bills till the Delhi government withdraw the recent hike in tariff.

Kejriwal said, “Everyone will have to be fearless. We have to rise, unite and fight against corruption. There is no opposition left in the country. The people are the opposition. I am here to spread awareness.”

He added that he had got an electricity connection installed in the house of a labour in New Delhi, but his connection was later cut, due to the unpayment of electricity bill of Rs 15,000.

Arvind Kejriwal urged the people to come together, he said, “We got the electricity connection of the poor labourer today (Saturday). Everyone has to take charge now. If they disconnect electricity, let us all connect it. MPs, ex-MPs owe huge amounts to electricity companies. Still, their connections are not disconnected. Poor people are being terrorized. We shall fight.”

Meanwhile, Arvind Kejriwal had recently launched his political party and yesterday said in a press conference that Robert Vadra had brought property in Gurgaon and other places.
