Pakistan blocks Imran Khan’s anti-US drone protest at tribal belt

Hitting out anti-US drone strikes with huge support of dozens of Western anti-war group Code Pink activist, including 32 Americans, now Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chief Imran Khan has geared back from just few miles the border of South Waziristan.

The move came when more than thousands protesters including Pakistanis and US anti-war activists on Sunday tried to enter in a lawless tribal region Kotkai in South Waziristan the border with Afghanistan in wake of a protest.

NCPCR asks explanation on growing rape cases in Haryana

Some recent reports state that Haryana is no mare safe place for girls as huge number of teenaged girls was raped in the state in last few months. Now, the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) has today announced that it will it will ask for explanation on this by the Haryana government.

Sharing views with media, NCPCR chairperson Shanta Sinha said, “Ten girls have been raped so far. There have been molestation charges. Our Commission will ask them what has been done in each case. Have all of the accused been arrested? What proceedings have been done?”

Irrigation scam: Maharashtra CM orders probe against 45 officials

Finally two year pending multi-crore rupee irrigation scam probing request has approved by Maharashtra Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan yesterday, kick off a high level departmental probe against 45 alleged officials of the Vidarbha Irrigation Development Corporation (VIDC).

Among 45 alleged officers, Devendra Shirke, the executive director of VIDC from 2008 to 2010 will also face probe which ordered in response of irregularities of cost escalations and official-contractor-politician nexus revealed in ND Vadnere committee report in 2010, reports said.

Google doodles physicist Niels Bohr’s 127th birthday

Niels Bohr the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1922 for his great support and help in the investigation of the structure of atoms and of the radiation emanating from them.

Today is his 127th birthday and on his birthday Google has posted a doodle on its home page. Niels Bohr, full name Niels Henrik David Bohr, was born in Copenhagen on October 7, 1885.
