Geetika Suicide Case: Kanda. Chadha charged with abetment to suicide

According to latest news, the prime accused in the Geetika Suicide Case former-Haryana Home minister Gopal Kanda and his close aide Aruna Chadha were on Saturday charged with abetment to suicide, criminal intimidation and destruction of evidence.

Reports have said that the court took cognizance of the chargesheet and a case was filed under Sections 306, 506, 201, 467, 468 and 471 of the Indian Penal Code and 34/66 of the IT Act.

Further, the chargesheet filled state the suicide attempt by Geetika Sharma was the result of Gopal Kanda’s phone call during which they had a fight.

Meanwhile, Geetika Sharma was a former air-hostess of MDLR Airlines, the company owned by Gopal Kanda, committed suicide on August 5.

Geetika Sharma said blamed in her suicide note that Gopal Kanda and Aruna Chadha for mental harassment and torture.

Aruna Chadha was arrested by Delhi police few days after Geetika Sharma’s suicide while Gopal Kanda was arrested on August 18 after he surrendered before the Delhi police. Geetika Sharma committed suicide at her Ashok Vihar residence in North West Delhi.

After Kanda surrendered before the police, he was sent to judicial custody on August 28.

On the other hand, the former Haryana minister, Gopal Kanda said that no case of abetment to suicide could be registered against him as Geetika Sharma was “hypersensitive” and the extreme act on her part was that of a “confused and frustrated individual”.
