Delhi HC dismisses PIL challenging Sachin Tendulkar’s RS nomination
According to latest news, the Delhi High Court on Wednesday dismissed PIL challenging Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar’s Rajya Sabha nomination.
A division bench of Chief Justice D Murugesan and Justice Rajiv Sahai Endlaw dismissed the PIL which was filed by Ram Gopal Singh Sisodia, a former Delhi legislator, claiming that cricketer Sachin Tendulkar did not possess “special knowledge and practical experience,” a criterion prescribed under Article 80 of the Constitution for such nomination.
