While talking to media, an official from Cricket Australia said, “The Tasmanian wicketkeeper and batsman’s battered right index finger will rule him out of availability for the next three to four months.”

Cricket Australia doctor Trefor James said, “Tim Paine’s recovery from surgery for a fractured finger has been slower than expected.”

Further, Mr. James said, “It is clear that the fracture has not healed as expected and the best course of action is for Tim to undergo further surgery.” Read more

Yuvraj Singh News 250x300 Yuvraj Singh expects comeback in Australia ODI seriesAs per the latest sports news, India’s World Cup hero Yuvraj Singh, who is slowly recovering from an non-malignant tumour in his lung, has recently said in a press release he was expecting to be fit for the ODI tri-series in Australia in February 2012.

While talking to media during the promotional event, Yuvraj said, “I’m getting ready to play again. I am targeting the ODI series in Australia.”

The super middle order batsman has a “non-malignant tumour” in his left lung and was left out of ODI series against the West Indies. Yuvraj Singh was also not includes by the selectors for the Test team playing in Australia due to his ill health.

Further talking to media, he said, “It was a very difficult time. It was a crucial period for me and my family when I learnt about the tumour. My mother supported me a lot during my recovery.” Read more

India has already won the series, and now they would surely try to end the series in a fine way. India team will soon fly to Australia thereafter. India won the last ODI with the superb record breaking double century by Indian captain Virender Sehwag. He scored 219 runs in the last ODI and India won the match by 153 runs.

Cricketer Rahul Dravid, who made 1,285 runs from 15 Tests at an average of close to 53, including 6 hundreds, while playing for the country. The cricketer completed this mark of runs during the period October 2010 to September 2011.

Talking to media in a video message, Dravid said, “I think a lot of my good performance is down to the hard work I put in. I think it has all paid off this year.”

Rahul Dravid, who was wearing a simple white T-shirt in his video message, termed the period, during which he scored six tons, as “mixed”.

Rahul said, “It was a mixed year, with the disappointment in South Africa and then the (stellar) series against England and the West Indies. But it is an honour to be recognised by your own board for being the best player of the year.” Read more
