Disproportionate assets case: High alert ordered as Jagan Mohan Reddy to appear before CBI court

Amid tight security in Hyderabad, 39-year-old YSR Congress Party leader YS Jaganmohan Reddy to be appear before a CBI court today, ahead of being arrested in the alleged disproportionate assets case on Sunday.

In a move of protesting against party leader arrest, other party members has called for a “bandh” in Andhra Pradesh on Monday, appealing to move in a peaceful manner.

On Sunday, after completing all the probing on the third day of questioning, CBI arrested Reddy on same day evening. However against Reddy, atleast three chargesheet has been filled by the agency.

As per reports, just few hours ahead of Reddy’s arrest, he blamed the CBI’s long questioning procedure were in back of the Congress.

“They want to keep me away from campaigning and postpone the by-elections,” Jagan told reporters before arrest.

In advance, Police have prepared to face any violence incident by his supporters as they are angered over his arrest. All the State has put on alert with prohibitory orders in Hyderabad, highly on Jagan’s native Kadapa district.

It has been said that YSR party activists has been arrested in charge of attacking a government office in temple town of Tirupati. And state-owned Road Transport Corporation has also exited its bus services.

Main reason of party’s aggressive behavior was that, Reddy’s arrest was made just ahead of elections of 18 Assembly seats and one Lok Sabha seat in Andhra Pradesh; this would put negative impact over party performance.
