Ex-Army chief VK Singh may join House gherao
The former Army Chief VK Singh had addressed his first political rally and he stressed to vote for pro-farmer parties and he added that he may take part in a gherao of Parliament.
It is said that the gherao of Parliament is planned by sugarcane farmers to protest against the sugar sector de-control announced by the committee by the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.
Earlier, Rashtriya Kisam Mazdoor Sangathan (RKMS) convenor V M Singh demanded VK Singh to join them. VM Singh addressed media and asked the central government reject the de-control report and threatened a gherao of Parliament.
Talking to media, VM Singh said that he wrote in his latter to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, “In case the report is not rejected, canegrowers of northern states would gherao Parliament on December 4.”
Ex-Army chief VK Singh was also present in the meeting and he supported VM Singh and said, “It was in the interest of farmers.
Further, VK Singh said, “We will cross the bridge when we reach there… Whether that situation will come or not, we will see. I am quite sure the PM is competent enough to relook at the report.”
