According to latest news, Aditi Ghatak, 19-year-old grand daughter of legendary filmmaker Ritwik Ghatak submitted to her injury on Sunday afternoon following a car accident on November 30.
However, her family is in complete shock after the death of Aditi in car accident and suspects a foul play. In fact, her mother Sanghita lodged a complaint with the Tiljala police station alleging that her daughter was murdered.
It is said in media that Aditi was out with her friend Gyanjit Pattar and two other female friends Alisha and Taniya. They first went to Goalbati area in Kheyada at around 8pm.
It is added that Gyanjit Pattar was on phone while driving and lost control and the car tripped into a canal in the area.
However, talking to media, a source said, “At around 6pm, she received a call from her friend Gyanjit Pattar asking her to meet at a coffee shop near Lake Gardens. Accordingly, she left the New Alipore LIC housing residence, which belonged to her grandmother Surama Ghatak.”
Further, Gyanjit Pattar was the first to come out of the car and called the rescue team for help, but gets no response. Then he first rescued Alisha and Taniya.
Later, he tried to rescue Aditi, and took her to Ruby Hospital and informed her mother about the accident.
Aditi’s mother said, “My daughter might have been drugged. She never went out of home without informing the family members.” But on Friday, we were in dark on where she went who she met.”
The city police is now investigating the matter. Gyanjit’s mobile is switch off and his house is locked.
