Inflammatory Content Removal: FB & Google working, Twitter on Govt’s axe

To be spare from the allegations of being responsible for Northeast exodus due to sourcing rumours across social media, top internet search giant Google and social networking site Facebook are ready to tie with Indian government to remove objectionable content from their websites.

Seeing the Bangalore’s last week situation, a big crowd flee from it to other cities fearing of rumours of SMSes and MMSes lead to morphed images showing attacks by Muslims following Assam’s ethnic riots, Indian authorities blocked 310 webpages uploaded with hateful videos and images.

Google Company, lead to 100 millions Indian users, agree to immediate remove You Tube hateful content and stated in a statement, “We understand the gravity of the situation, strongly condemn acts of violence and continue to work closely with relevant authorities. Content intended to incite violence, such as hate speech, is prohibited on Google products where we host content, including YouTube, Google+ and Blogger,” report said.

However, Facebook also work with Govt. on removal of objectionable status upload content, but other micro-blogging site Twitter still not response on any movement acted on its operation. And if it does not respond quickly, then DoT will take action against it.
