The god of cricket, master blaster Sachin Tendulkar on Sunday announced retirement from the ODI format of the game. The announcement was made just few hours before the selection of Team India for series against Pakistan.
The cricketer played for Team Indian for 23 long years, and achieved many un-breakable records.
In a statement released today by BCCI, Sachin said, “I have decided to retire from the One-Day format of the game. I feel blessed to have fulfilled the dream of being part of a World Cup wining Indian team. The preparatory process to defend the World Cup in 2015 should begin early and in right earnest”
Further, Sachin said, “I would like to wish the team all the very best for the future. I am eternally grateful to all my well wishers for their unconditional support and love over the years.”
Meanwhile, Sachin Tendulkar has been considered as one of the most complete batsmen in modern cricket and one who was considered next only to the legendary Sir Donald Bradman. Sachin has announced his retirement from the ODIs format of the cricket.
He scored 18, 426 runs from 463 ODIs with an average of 44.83. Sachin had scored 49 ODI hundreds and 96 fifties.
However, Sachin said that he will keep playing Test matches for Team India.
