Ratan Tata seeks shareholders’ support for his successor at his last AGM

At his last annual general meeting as chairman of Tata Groups, Rattan Naval Tata, the current chairman of one of the largest 100 billions dollars company on Friday asked shareholders to support to his successor Cyrus P Mistry as new chairman.

Mistry will now handle in December the structure of Tata Group and Tata wants his shareholders support for Mistry to encourage for further processing with powerful performance to strengthen the giant.

“Cyrus Mistry has all the qualities and values to take the Tata Group in the direction that it has continued in all these years,” Tata told reporters, adding, “I want you to extend the same sort of support and encouragement that you have given to me all these years, to Mistry as well.”

Tata Motors is the world’s 4th largest commercial vehicle manufacture auto company which has huge and appreciable support of his investors’ that help it to beat the market and go ahead with his successive single-mindedly retain target across all segments.

“Failure to do so will see us slipping,” he warned and said, “I hope the employees will rise to the occasion in spirit to meet the needs of the changing times.”

Talking about its latest and most demanded prized buy JLR, Jaguar Land Rover, which kept an over 12 per cent rise in the company net income in the June quarter, Tata said, JLR is the biggest competitive commercial vehicles (CV) of the company and surely proves a big rival for international CV makers like Merc, Volvo, Navistar.

“The JLR board has approved a new small high-performance engine development plan,” the Company added in a statement.
