The one of the big names in the international cricket as well as Australia cricket team, Ricky Ponting has played his last Test match against South Africa at the WACA on Monday.
The 17-years long cricketing career of star Australian cricketer comes to an end and Ponting made 8 runs in his last innings.
Ricky Ponting’s Test career came to an end just before lunch on the fourth day of the third Test against South Africa at the WACA on Monday.
The 37-years-old cricketer is the second highest run scorer in Test Cricket after India’s Sachin Tendulkar. He said in the eve of his 168th Test match that it would be his best.
On the other hand, the South African cricket team formed a guard of honour when Ponting strode to the crease, with the Tasmanian shaking hands with Proteas skipper Smith as he came out.
