Amid pressure from the opposition allies criticism, also the lack of public, UPA led Congress now seeks to make entry of the Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi in the Union Cabinet, this indicated by recent stated statement of External Affairs Minister S.M. Krishna.
Source said, Foreign minister demanded for the inclusion of Rahul Gandhi in the Union Cabinet, “necessary” for Gandhi to come into the government.
Congress is the only party that alleged with many charges of corruptions, misleading and fraud regarding black money. There are several cabinet minister over them graft charges has been alleged and due to that they has quitted their post.
“I am one of those who believe it is necessary for Rahul Gandhi to come into the government and help the government solve the many problems we face as a country,” Krishna told reporters today.
Rahul has full support from side of UPA and Increasing pressure on Rahul to join the Cabinet, source reported, minister said, “We always welcome Rahul Gandhi’s involvement in the government. The prime minister’s invitation is there to join the government but he himself seems to be not inclined at the moment.”
However Prime Minister Manmohan Singh already offered Rahul Gandhi to join the government and still his “invitation” waiting for him, as per reports.
Krishna’s move to force Rahul for involving the govt. is likely causing a threat of reducing number of members in the party as departure of two major senior Cabinet ministers hiked the threat of huge tensed situation in the party.
Pranab Mukherjee, Union Finance Minister resigned from his post on Tuesday to contest the presidential poll. Presidential polls will be held on 19 July and before filling the nomination papers for Elections as the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) candidate, Mukherjee quitted from his post as Finance Minister.
Beside it, on the same day, another cabinet minister, Virbhadra Singh resigned while Himachal Pradesh’s local court was framed corruption charges against him.
