Illegal Mining Scam: CBI raids BS Yeddyurappa’s residence

A special nine-member team of CBI who is probing the illegal mining case, on Wednesday conducted raid at the residences of former Karnataka chief minister BS Yeddyurappa and his kin in Bangalore and Shimoga, being alleged in connection with the multi-crore mining scam.

“Our teams are searching for certain documents in the residences of Yeddyurappa and his relatives in Bangalore and Shimoga. The search is still on,” a senior CBI official told source reporters. Read more

Bibi Jagir Kaur 300x280 Court orders 5–years jail to Bibi Jagir Kaur for conspiracy in daughters deathIn a biggest crack-down in the case of Bibi Jagir Kaur, Senior Punjab minister was today found guilty by a Patiala court of conspiracy in the death of her own daughter, harpreet Kaur, in April 2000.

It is said in reports that Jagir Kaur was sentenced to 5-years rigorous imprisonment. Though, the Patiala court dropped murder charges against Bibi Jagir Kaur.

The much talked Punjab minister, Bibi Jagir Kaur was appointed in the state as the minister for rural water supply and sanitation and defence services. She was convicted by the special Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) court in Patiala. Read more

J Dey Murder Case: CBI to file auxiliary chargesheet

CBI further auxiliary chargesheet brings another turn to the murder case of J Dey, a senior crime journalist with Mid Day.

The journalist Jigna Vora who was arrested on November 25, 2011 in allegation for criminal conspiracy in the case, is set on eyes of the Crime Branch.

Under the stringent Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) and the Indian Penal Code (IPC), CBI is now going to file a supplementary chargesheet against Vora, detailing the role allegedly played in the murder of Mumbai-based journalist J Dey.

Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime Branch) Devendra Bharti informed, “We are likely to file a supplementary chargesheet against Vora tomorrow (Tuesday). We have gathered enough evidence against her to make a case.” Read more
