Live: IAF refuses to fly Rahul Gandhi in Assam
According to latest reports, the Congress leader Rahul Gandhi was forced to change his travel plans after the Indian Air Force [IAF] sis not allowed his to fly from Kokrajhar to Guwahati due to bad weather.
Rahul Gandhi was on a one day visit to Assam and was expected to meet the victims of ethnic violence in relief camps. Further, Rahul Gandhi was also scheduled to have meeting with Bodoland Territorial Council leaders on the prevailing situation in Assam. Read more
Rahul Gandhi to visit Assam’s violence-hit areas
Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi is likely to visit Kokrajhar, Chirang and Dhubri, the three violence-hit districts of Assam, Tuesday.
A senior leader of the Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) confirmed this Saturday and added that Congress leader Digvijay Singh is likely to accompany Rahul Gandhi on his visit.
Violence between Bodos and Bengali speaking Muslim settlers in the districts have so far killed over 90 people and displaced over four lakh people. Read more
