David Headley sentences 35 years in jail; extradition to India possible

Pakistani-American David Headley, the Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) operative has sentenced to 35 years in prison by a U.S. court on Thursday for his key role as the mastermind of 2008 Mumbai terror.

The Justice Department pressed a federal judge in Chicago to sentence Headley with a lighter 30-35 year jail term followed by five years of supervised release by US District Judge Harry Leinenweber. Read more

It is said in reports that the main remembrance event will be taking place at Mumbai Police Gymkhana at Chowpatty where a 26/11 memorial has been erected

Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) Special Judge S.M. Modak remanded Jundal, who was in custody of the Anti-Terrorist Squad, to judicial custody as the agency finished questioning him in the 2006 Aurangabad arms haul case. Read more
