S.M. Krishna asked to help NRI couple get back child

The West Bengal Congress unit has requested External Affairs Minister S.M. Krishna to take steps to ensure that a US-based couple’s child is returned to them at the earliest.

US authorities took the one-year-old boy under their care after he suffered head injuries. The parents have limited access to him.

Debasish Saha, 28, an engineer based in New Jersey, said his son Indrasish fell from bed Aug 9 and hurt his head. Debashish, whose father Nirmal Saha lives in Balurghat in West Bengal’s South Dinajpur district, shifted to New Jersey July 22.

Norway Couple row: NGO seeks permission to bring back kids

As per latest news, a Kolkata-based NGO has recently filled an appeal to external affairs minister SM Krishna to support it in bringing back to India the two children who are in the custody of Norway government.

India’s Smile, NGO-located in Kolkata, which had earlier asked the central government to bring back Abhigyan (3-years-old) and Abhigyan (1-year-old), children of Anurup and Sagarika Bhattacharya, residing in Oslo in Norway.

The NGO also said the government that it will bear all the required cost in bringing back the two children and take care of their educational and other expenses till the age of 18.

NRI children custody: Husband blames wife of marital violence

Unusual complications turned the Norway children custody row into another track after NRI parents in Norway accused each other for problems as husband alleged wife of marital violence which he had hidden to get custody of the children.

Anurup Bhattacharya, father of Abhigyan and Aishwarya claimed that he had marital violence problems with his wife Sagarika who beat last Moneday and badly injured him.

Because of having ‘psychological problems’ and not mentally fit, now Anurup wants to be separate from her.
