NSUI candidates 150x150 Sonia Gandhi, Sheila Dikshit congratulates NSUI candidatesThe Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit has congratulated the NSUI candidates for their win in the Delhi University Students Union elections on Saturday.

The winning team from the NSUI candidates met the Delhi chief minister at her residence, congress chief Sonia Gandhi and legislator Mukesh Sharma was also present.

Talking to media, Sheila Dikshit said, “The landslide victory established beyond doubt that the Congress party and its ideology were dear to the youth of the Capital as well as the country.” Read more

Delhi: MCD Polls, Congress, BJP fight to control MCD

Amid tight security, the polling for Delhiites municipal elections began on Sunday morning at 8am that will decide the fate of 2,423 electorate contestants.

Polls are to be held in around 272 wards of three East, South and North civic bodies of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi.

Amongst candidates, 138 seats are fixed for women and it has said that in each ward there has atleast 104 candidates in South and North Corporations while 64 in the East. Read more

2002 Riot Cases: High relief for Gujarat CM Narendra Modi

The Gujarat High Court rejected a petition filed by NGO Jan Sangarsh Manch to summon the chief minister Narendra Modi for his involvement in connection with the 2002 riots

No having evidence in the application seeking against Modi, the commission of bench of justice has rejected the petition by not having witness.

Talking to Media, JSM said that Modi should be summoned by the commission as the role of the chief minister falls within the ambit of the probe panel’s inquiry and now he will go to the Supreme Court for summoning Modi.

From last week, situation is really complicating for Modi, firstly a pull out released through which Modi is called as ‘a master organiser and astute election strategist’ and second is of JSM petition filed against Modi. Read more
