However, the SAD’s core committee is expected to meet today to hold further talks on the issue.

Talking to media, Parkash Singh Badal said, “My government has been taking advice from legal experts. All possible legal steps will be initiated pertaining to Rajoana’s case.”

Earlier on Friday, Akal Tahkt has asked CM and SGPC chief Avtar Singh Makkar to meet the President Pratibha Patil to save Balwan Singh, who is in jail in the killing of former Punjab chief minister Beant Singh. Read more

Bouncing an amazing polling victory of elections in Punjab, today duo Parkash Singh Badal and Sukbir Badal will be in Chandigarh to hold a meeting with their Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) MLAs.

Now once again, after breaking record of 43 years history, Parkash Singh Badal will continue to be the Chief Minister of Punjab for fifth times, unless he steps down on his own.

This record is possible only with highest votes in support of BJP that helps SAD to come back to power for a second consecutive term, breaking a 40-year-old jinx of the state.

On Tuesday, results for the 117-member assembly were declared and beating all of them, Shiromani Akali Dal president Sukhbir Singh Badal had addressed the highest victory margin by grabbing 68 seats out of 117.

Badal won seats by defeating his competitor the Congress dissident Hans Raj Josan by a margin of 50,246 votes. And on other side, Vikram Singh Majitheya, Sukhbir’s brother-in-law, wife Harsimrat Badal’s brother, was also won by a huge difference of voting with 47,581 against his rival candidate.

However Akalies faced lower voting on the Phillaur seat, Jagraon and Ferozepur-rural, but its enough for them to win. Read more
