Over the ‘Indo-Pakistan’ cricket ties up, ailing Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray came out in front of media, threatening Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde not to go with forthcoming Indo Pak Match Series.
Hitting a strong opposition, Thackeray said that his party and patriotic Hindus would not allow the matches to happen where they are scheduled, and also accusing UPA head Manmohan Singh as the biggest enemy of nation for green signaling Shinde to the series.
He also criticised Shinde of saying that he had “offered his services to Pakistan by giving green signal to the tour.”
Info-Pak upcoming match is scheduled to start from December 25, but Thackeray warned that “Pakistani players’ feet won’t touch Maharashtra”. He called BCCI cricket board of “betraying the country for the sake of money” and also Indian players are being part of this.
“Except for Kapil Dev and Sunil Gavaskar, no cricketer has opposed playing cricket with Pakistan,” Thackeray said in a statement, a source said.
“Shinde saheb, if you have any shame, take your statement back or self-respecting and patriotic Hindus will not allow the matches to happen where they are scheduled,” Thackeray added.
Explaining the Pakistan’s role in the 26/11 Mumbai and the 2001 Parliament attack, Thackeray accused Indian cricketers to play against Pakistan, a big fact of mocking motherhood as well as the martyred jawans.
