The chances of former Karnataka chief minister B S Yeddyurappa are going to be high as his supporters requested Nitin Gadkari, the BJP president to ask Yeddyurappa for once again join chief ministership by Feb 27.
During his two-day Chintan Manthan or brainstorming session, started today, Mr. Gadkari met Yeddyurappa in Bangalore to take some guidelines for removal of a huddle with all its MLAs and MPs as another crisis over issuing an ultimatum to his party in Karnataka.
As per source report, Yeddyurappa said that he was dissatisfied with the current chief minister, Sadananda Gowda who getting too close for comfort to his rival JDS chief HD Deve Gowda. It was the Yeddyurappa who had helped Sadananda Gowda become the Chief Minister after he was forced to resign.
Informing about his contribution in success of the party, he told the BJP president that he went to jail for 25 days for “no fault of mine”.
More than six months ago, Yeddyurappa was forced to resign after a Lokayukta report indicted him for illegal mining, and has in recent weeks been making vigorous behind-the-scenes efforts to regain the chief ministership.
February 27, is decided to be set as a deadline to the party’s central leadership to reinstate him as chief minister. This day is special for Yeddyurappa as he turns to 70 and there is an invitation to all his supporting legislators to attend a lunch hosted by him on that day.
Dismissing any leadership change, the Chief Minister Sadananda Gowda said, “Setting up of a deadline and leadership change are media creations. I will present the budget. There is no doubt in it”.
However in addition to the woes of the BJP, Mr. Yeddyurappa wants to make a comeback as Chief Minister of Karnataka as much against the central leadership’s wish. Though still he has not informed anything, but he said he would decide his course of action on 27 Feb as serving the ultimatum.
