Delhi Gang-rape victim’s father denies to permit UK daily to name daughter

Delhi gang-raped victim’s father has denied the report of allowing to be named her daughter that revealed by a UK daily’s Sunday newspaper.

As per report of published in Hindustan Times, the father said that his daughter’s identity should be made public only if a law was named after her.

A day ahead, interview of gang-raped victim’s father has published in British newspaper.The newspaper quoted him as saying, “We want the world to know her real name.”

“My daughter didn’t do anything wrong, she died while protecting herself. I am proud of her,” he further added.

After getting permission of victim’s father to identify him with his family with picture and name except her daughter, the newspaper posted his picture along with his family on its website, reports suggested.

The 23-year-old physiotherapist student has generic name such as Amanat, Jyoti Singh Pandey, and Damini was raped and brutalised on a moving bus by six men and then thrown off it on December 16. She died in a Singapore hospital of her injuries on December 29.
