First Look: Disco song from Karan Johar’s ‘Student Of The Year’

Do you remember the disco song released in the 1981 ‘deewane’ sung by Pakistani singer Nazia Hussain. Get ready, to feel it once again.

The Bollywood filmmaker Karan Johar adapted the song in his upcoming film. The song is recreated Vishal Shekhar and sung by Sunidhi Chauhan in Karan Johar’s ‘Student Of The Year’.

Some parts of the older song sung by Biddu and Nazia Hussain are also remained in the new song.

As per sources, “Karan was keen to recreate the song and has used it in the film that has been picturised on the lead cast of Siddarth Malhotra, Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt.”

He further said, “Karan wanted the first song of the film to be a chartbuster. He was always clear that out of the six tracks for the film, Disco deewane would be the first song for the audience. His decision was approved by the entire team.”

However, director Karan Johar was not available for the comments.

Disco Deewane charted in 14 nations allover world and becomes the best-selling Asian pop song. It breaked records by selling 1,00,000 records within a day of its release in Mumabi.
