The newly wed Bollywood beauty, Kareena Kapoor looked gorgeous and beautiful on Tuesday. The actress is now married to Saif Ali Khan in a simple ceremony at Mumbai’s Taj Mahal Palace hotel.
The actress will be wearing the traditional old gharara belonging to the Pataudis. Her mother-in-law Sharmila Tagore wore the same gharara at her marriage to cricketer Mansur Ali Khan Pataudi in 1969.
After the ceremony, Kareena Kapoor changed her dress and wear a burgundy gharara designed by close friend and well-known fashion designer Manish Malhotra.
Talking to media about Kareena Kapoor’s marriage dress and nikaah, Manish Malhotra said, “I worked on the antique Pataudi gharara that was restored by Ritu Kumar for Kareena’s wedding… we did the final fittings and added a bit of touch of embroidery here and there. When Saif and Kareena exchanged vows… she wore Sharmilaji’s gharara for some time.”
Further, Manish Malhotra said, “Kareena wore a burgundy colour embellished gharara with maroon duppatta. I gave a very old world charm to all the ghararas.”
However, during her registry marriage with Saif, Kareena wore a green and red embroidered salwar-kameez, also designed by Manish Malhotra.
