Gopal Kanda get clean chit in 2008 Assault Case

The main accused of abetting suicide by former MDLR Airlines’ air hostess Geetika Sharma, Gopal Kanda was go ahead by Delhi Police in four year old, 2008 income tax officials’ assault case.

A clean chit gave to the former Haryana minister along with his an additional chief judicial magistrate in Rajasthan’s Barmer district after investigating report of his MDLR Airlines office submitted by police to the court, an official source said.

On the complaint of the then Deputy Director of Income Tax (Unit One), Aashutosh Verma, an FIR filed on this case in February 2008 against Kanda, his aids Govind Aggarwal and Motilal along with 50 others for assaulting the income tax officials.

Reports said, they were also trying to throw away files inputs of disproportionate assets and of having range from revolvers to rifles that got after hit raid at the MDLR office by probing team.

But due to having arm connections, Kanda was easily escaped from prosecution under the severe Arms Act. Meanwhile, Kanda has to produce before court for next hearing in September 10.
