Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi gets rousing reception in Patna

The Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday came to Patna city after around 28 months was lustily greeted by BJP workers. And, the BJP workers were carrying slogans waiting Modi to be the next Prime Minister of the country.

A BJP supporter shouted when Modi reached Patna, “Desh ka Pradhan Mantri kaisa ho, Narendra Modi jaisa ho” [a person like Modi should be the PM]”

Narendra Modi came to Patna to pay tributes to the late BJP leader Kailashpati Mishra, who died on Saturday.

Meanwhile, the Gujarat Chief Minister last visited Patna for the BJP national executive meeting in June 2010.

It is said that there is no love lost between the Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. Talking to media, Nitish Kumar ensured that Narendra Modi was kept out of Bihar in the 2005 and 2010 Assembly elections as also the 2009 Lok Sabha polls.

Narendra Modi went to Kailashpati Mishra’s residence direct from airport and stayed there for 15 minutes before heading back.

Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi, BJP Deputy Leader in Rajya Sabha Ravishankar Prasad, Bihar BJP president C.P. Thakur and others were also with the Gujarat Chief Minister during his short visit to Patna.

Further, Narendra Modi told media that Kailashpati Mishra as Governor of Gujarat had worked as a bridge between the Centre and the State.
