IC-814 plane hijacker arrested in Jammu & Kashmir
In a major crackdown of Kandahar hijack case, the Jammu & Kashmir police have arrested Mehrajuddin Dand alias Javed, expected to be the main suspect who provided face travel documents and logistical support to the hijackers of Indian Hijacker IC-814.
It is said in reports that he provided fund support to militants and he is the top man of Pakistan’s intelligence agency Inter-Services Intelligence [ISI] in India.
Police report said that Javed also have relations with Dawood Ibrahim. It is also said in police report that Mehrajuddin Dand is a very useful member of Hizbul Mujahideen chief Syed Salahuddin.
Further, the police arrested the suspect, Mehrajuddin Dand alias Javed, from Kishtwar district; he has been active in the region for the last 20-years.
Police said that Mehrajuddin Dand alias Javed is also involved in 1996 Lajpat Nagar blasts in New Delhi.
Mehrajuddin Dand alias Javed used to live in Nepal with Hindu name and also has some locations in India.
Reports have said that Mehrajuddin Dand was among the first group of Hizbul Mujahideen which was given terrorist training in Pakistan. Police also said that Mehrajuddin Dand alias Javed is said to be the right-hand man of Hizbul Mujahideen chief Syed Salahuddin.
