India v/s Australia: Gautam Gambhir hits fifty, India 114/2 in second innings

According to the latest cricket updates, the opener from India, Gautam Gambhir is batting superbly and hits his 19th half-century off 54 balls on the third day of the second Test against Australia at the Sydney Cricket Ground on Thursday.

Opener Gautam Gambhir and Rahul Dravid resumed the Indian second innings after tea.

In addition to yesterday’s score of 482/4, the home side added 101 runs in the first session to reach 583 with the loss of 4 wickets at lunch, with Clarke on 293 and Hussey on 111 in an unbeaten 258-run partnership.

On the second day ‘s play, captain Clarke proved his batting as he struck his first unbeaten double ton while former captain Ricky Ponting marked his return to form with a sparkling 134 as Australia took to a huge total of 291 to bat a hapless India out of the game in the second Test on Wednesday.
