Misuse of Indian Air Force by Sonia and Rahul Gandhi about 49 times in 7 years

According to latest news, Congress Chief Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gnadhi have traveled in Indian Air Force aircraft and helicopters 49 times in the past 7 years which also includes 23 trips with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.

It is said in reports that Rahul Gandhi traveled in Indian Air Force aircraft and helicopters around 8 times in last 3 years. The data was declared by under the Right to Information Act.

Sonia and Rahul Gandhi are not eligible to travel in IAF aircrafts and helicopters. Only Prime Minister of the country, deputy PM, the home minister and the defence minister are eligible to travel for official purposes.

And for unofficial purposes, only the Prime Minister is eligible IAF aircrafts and helicopters

As per IAF rules, people eligible for airlift can take other co-passengers but only for specific purposes

It is said that out of 49 trips in IAF aircrafts and helicopters, 42 did not result in any bills, and it is said that they were undertaken in the company of eligible people while six bills were raised and paid by the respective departments.

Meanwhile, a bill of Rs 1.17 crore is still pending against the Karnataka government.

The data shows that Sonia Gandhi traveled with Pranab Mukherjee [then Finance and External Affairs Miinster] and Defence Minister AK Antony six times each.
