On 64th Republic Day, Pilgrims pay homage to Ganga at Maha Kumbh

India’s Holy Fest ‘Kumbh Mela’ is going to devote India’s independence from pollution revolt, over thousands pilgrims will march a pollution free India parade together on the banks of the Ganga.

On eve of Republic Day, people who arrived across India, more than 54 countries including students will celebrate occasion with an Indian “Clean Revolution” led by Swami Chidanand Saraswati.

Swami Saraswati is founder of Ganga Action Parivar and the President of Parmarth Niketan Ashram, Rishikes, sources said, added that parade will start at 4pm on banks of the Ganga on the main Kumbh Mela grounds.

“We are gathering to send a strong message that together we can clean up the Ganga, just as (the holy river) cleanses us,” Swami Saraswati told reporters.

Swami led revolution also aimed to pay homage to war heroes.

As per reports, during a Clean Revolution parade people from of all castes, creeds and cultures will wave their national flags and slogans, calling to keep Ganga pollution-free.

Ganga, the holy river is now one of the worst water banks as nearly three billion litres of sewage and chemical waste per day are poured into it, experts report said. This resulted in toxic drinking water which pollute environment.
