Plane from Spain to Amsterdam not hijacked

According to latest reports from Dutch media, a passenger plane had been hijacked en route from Malanga in Spain to Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport appear unfounded and a passenger said that there is such hostage situation in the plane.

The plane was on its route from Spanish carrier Vueling and now it is parked at a remote corner of Schiphol which is about 2km (1.5 miles) from the main terminal, surrounded by security personnel and several ambulances.

As reports were telecasted on national TV, NOS spoke by phone with a person, who is one of the passengers, he said, “The plane was calm and there was no hostage situation.”

The Dutch broadcaster, NOS said, “In fact nothing was going on. We had to fly a few rounds. We are now waiting in the plane, the doors are still closed. But there is no hijack.”

On the other hand, airport officials and security services did not immediately return calls seeking comment.

Meanwhile, no further information was released to media about the incident.
