Diarra denies money main motive for Anzhi move
New Anzhi Makhachkala signing Lassana Diarra has denied his move from Real Madrid football club was motivated by money.
Anzhi announced the transfer of the 27-year-old French international midfielder last week, the big-spending club’s highest-profile signing of the summer.
Neither Anzhi nor Real has disclosed the value of the transfer, though Spanish media have reported a sum of 5 million euros. Read more
Production at Venezuela gas field to start in 15 months
Spain’s Repsol said it expects production at the Perla gas field, located off Venezuela’s northwestern coast and one of the world’s largest, to begin in about 15 months.
“The gas sales contract establishes a period of between 23 and 27 months for the first gas, but with early accelerated production … we can move (that timetable) up to 14-15 months,” an executive with Repsol’s Venezuelan unit, Ramiro Paez, told reporters. Read more
Plane from Spain to Amsterdam not hijacked
According to latest reports from Dutch media, a passenger plane had been hijacked en route from Malanga in Spain to Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport appear unfounded and a passenger said that there is such hostage situation in the plane.
The plane was on its route from Spanish carrier Vueling and now it is parked at a remote corner of Schiphol which is about 2km (1.5 miles) from the main terminal, surrounded by security personnel and several ambulances. Read more
