Provide information about Narendra Modi’s travel expenses: Trupti Shah

According to latest news, a Vadodara-based RTI activist, Trupti Shah, has asked the Gujarat government to provide information’s about the traveling expenses of Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi and his cabinet members for attending number of conferences in 2007.

Trupti Shah has sent a letter to Narendra Modi and asked him to provide information about the traveling expenses on his and his cabinet members tours during ‘women empowerment sammelans’ had not been issued till date.

The RTI activist sent the latter one week after Gujarat Chief Minister asked to provide information about Congress chief Sonia Gandhi’s foreign trips, he said that all these trips costs around Rs 1800 crore.

Talking to media, Ms Shah said that she had filed a Right to Information (RTI) application on July 18, 2007 asking for information about the expenses by Gujarat government for establishing the sammelans in 27 places across the state in 2007..

She said no information was provided to her till date. She said Gujarat’s General Administrative Department (GAD), in a letter dated November 1, 2007, provided the list of 27 places visited by Mr Modi from March 10, 2007 to September 20, 2007.

However, the letter regarding travel expenses, “The office of the Chief Minister did not mention the travelling expenses and so the CM’s travelling expenses may be considered nil.”

She added that it is “ridiculous” and “unbelievable” as Narendra Modi traveled to most of the places by helicopter.
