Punjabi farmers in trouble in Gujarat, Badal seeks Modi’s help

The Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal is looking forward an immediate involvement of Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi and BJP head Nitin Gadkari to resolve the issue of ownership rights of Punjabi farmers on the agriculture land in Gujarat state.

It is said that Parkash Singh Badal sent separate letter for Modi and Gadkari in this regards. Talking to media, Punjab CM said that the orders of the Kutch collector to freeze the land of around 1000 ‘Khedut Khatas’ [Agriculture Accounts] of the Punjabi farmers.

Further. Mr. Badal said that this is injustice to Punjabi farmers who had developed the land into a fertile with their hard work.

Talking to media, Parkash Singh Badal said, “I was peeved to learn that though the Gujarat High Court had ruled in favour of these farmers, the state government had filed an appeal in the Supreme Court against it.”

The Chief Minister said in his latter that this was totally unfair as Gujarat was a homeland of all those Punjabi farmers who were their for many years and working hard on their land to make it fertile.

He added in his latter that these Punjabi farmers playing a vital role in the progress of Gujarat state as well.

Badal urged Narendra Modi and Nitin Gadkari to have a soft view on Punjabi farmers case. He said, “If the matter was resolved amicably, misery and distress of these farmers could be avoided.”
