Tahir-ul-Qadri, the Pakistani-Canadian cleric-politician has warned Pakistan government to quit and to dissolve the National and Provincial Assemblies, backed by the military.
If Pakistan Government not does same, then get ready to face “people’s parliament”, as per cleric Tahirul Qadri.
“Long March” had ended and now the “revolution” was beginning, Qadri said in a statement.
The Chief of Tehrik Minhaj-ul-Quran, Qadri marched in the federal capital, Jinnah Avenue in the heart of Islamabad with more than ten thousands of anti-government protesters.
Qadri’s march led to a “people’s democratic revolution” of anti-corruption protesters for making Pakistan a moderate, peaceful and tolerant socialistic nation, not an ‘extremist’ one, reports said.
Earlier end of last month, Qadri arrived in Pakistan after seven years, heads a network of religious schools worldwide, has promised a change in the system set the nation’s politics into a tailspin, it added.
While addressing a rally in Islamabad, Qadri called to his supporters to proceed towards the Red Zone, the buildings of Parliament House and the diplomatic enclave.
The clash erupted between police and Qadri’s supporters in which police used actions such as firing in air and teargas to disperse crowd which lobbed stones at them.
Pakistani government has failed to maintain peace in country as the federal and provincial governments had lost their mandate to govern and referred to all constitutional office-bearers as “ex-President, ex-Prime Minister, ex-Chief Ministers…”, as per Qadri saying.
For ‘terrorist image’ of Pakistan, he claimed to political leadership as he said, “Our politicians are soaked in corruption from tip to toe… they just want to fleece the poor.”
Qadri said to continue his people’s democratic revolution with his supporters until the government resigned.
