The Reliance Communications‘ under-sea cable subsidiary has said in a press release that the company had introduced the Al-Faw Cable Landing Station (CLS) with Falcon cable system in Iraq, which is used to provide telecom services.
Meanwhile, the top Indian company, Reliance Globalcom has launched this service in collaboration with the Iraqi Telecom and Post Company (ITPC).
While talking to media, Reliance Globalcom COO Rory Cole said, “We are delighted at achieving this historic milestone and being the first private service provider to activate submarine capacity in Iraq. Falcon offers connectivity globally and will help connect Iraq to the rest of the world.”
The statement further revealed that Reliance Globalcom is the first private sub-sea service provider to activate submarine capacity. The company will now directly connect Iraq to other nations in the Middle East, Asia, Europe and North America.
After the direct connectivity of Iraq with other nations, the internet speed in the country will also increase.
On the other hand, the Reliance Globalcom owns private undersea cable system on both sides of 65,000 km and is included with Reliance Com’s optic fibre operating more than 190,000 km in India to provide Internet services.
The original design of Al-Faw CLS was established to carry Internet traffic of up to 680 gigabit per second (GBPS) with two diverse routes.
Later, the two diverse routes are incorporated into the RCom’s Falcon network.
Now, the Reliance Globalcom is offering around 50 Gbps capacity on each route in order to cater to the existing market demand.
