Sachin Tendulkar not thinking about retirement

The so-called god of cricket, Sachin Tendulakr has no plans of retirement form International cricket, though cricketer like Rahul Dravid and VVS Laxman had announced their retirement from cricket.

After receiving the award of ‘Test Cricketer of 2011’ trophy at the Castrol awards, Sachin said, “As long as there is a reason to wake up with a reason in the morning, it makes sense in continuing. The day I don’t enjoy wielding a bat in my hands, I will think otherwise. But that moment hasn’t come as yet. When I will get that feeling, I will confirm on that.”

The cricketer has spent more than 20 years of his life in the international cricket and had a record of 100 hundreds under his belt.

Special award was given to opener Virender Sehwag for his double hundred in ODI match against Sri Lanka, he said that he would not aim to play 100 Test for India.

He said, “If the ball is there to hit along the fence or over it, I do that without much thinking.”

Sehwag said, “We all thought even if Sachin gets out on 190s, we will all stand up and clap anyhow. But when he got there, all players and sports staff gathered at the players balcony and applauded his achievement. That feeling cannot be expressed.”

On the other hand, Gautam Gambhir received the ‘Performance Under Pressure’ Award, the cricketer said that last two Twenty20 World Cups were no so good for the Indian team, but hope to do well in Sri Lanka.

He said, “I am not sure of winning the cup. It is not in our hands, but will put up a good show in the upcoming T20 World Cup to be played in Sri Lanka.”
