Ending a long three years decades wait, Shinzo Abe, shin-zoh ah-bay , has elected as Japan’s new Prime Minister today.
Abe, a conservative whose nationalist positions in the past angered Japan’s neighbours, is the leader of the ruling Liberal Democratic Party (LDP).
He has got 328 votes from 478 valid votes in the 480-seat lower house.
By margin of 328 votes from 478, total of 480-seat in the lower house of Parliament, Abe won the election and ready to repeat his ruling once again.
As per media information, during 2006-2007, Abe-led LDP was positioned as PM and is to name his new cabinet very soon just after resignation of now former Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda’s Cabinet.
Meanwhile, Abe will have to face several tough issues such as unimproved economy, financial crisis and devastating earthquake, tsunami and nuclear crises.
Vowing to appropriate deal with issues, Abe told reporters, “The Liberal Democratic Party has changed,” adding, “We are not the party we once were.”
