Show Case Notice: Pakistani PM seeks time to write Swiss letter

In failure to implement the Pakistan Supreme Court order to write a letter to Swiss authorities to reopen graft cases against President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf on Monday appeared before court
.
According to report, PM requested a five-judge special bench to give him four to six weeks to perform as per SC directions and also appealed for withdrawal the show case notice issued to him by court.

“I need time to understand the matters it involves certain legal and constitutional points,” Ashraf said.

Report said, Ashraf is visiting to China and if he will go with a show cause notice, then a bad impact has put on the international community about him as well as his nation, so he requested court to withdraw the show cause notice.

Former PM, Yousuf Raza Gilani was also disqualified from his post by the court for contempt when he failed to reopen the corruption cases against Zardari.

Zardari along with President Pervez Musharraf’s wife Benazir Bhutto, both were accused by court in $12 million money laundering graft paid by Swiss authorities for favoring inspection contracts.
