Air India will hire new pilots, says Ajit Singh

In yet another crackdown in the pilots strike, the Air India has now announced to hire 100 pilots, huge number of them would be co-pilots in place of the 400-odd pilots of erstwhile AI who have been on strike for almost a month.

While talking to media on Wednesday, the Civil aviation minister Ajit Singh said, “The strike is over for us as the striking pilots have refused accept the Dharmadhikari committee report, which is part of the airline’s turnaround plan and I don’t think there is any point in their coming back.” Read more

Air India Pilots Strike causes Rs 150 crore loss

Air India pilots strike enters 5th day, asks PM to look into the matter

As the agitation by protesting AI pilots entered the fifth day today, senior pilots send a letter to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, asking to be involved in sought to end the worsen crisis.

In their letter to the chairman and managing director of AI and PM, the agitator pilots said their demands for training on Dreamliner were genuine. They requested PM to look into matter. Read more

Pilots Strike: 12 Air India, 7 Kingfisher flights cancelled
