Airtel awaits Govt nod to test 4G voice services
India largest leading mobile phone company Bharti Airtel is now seeking the government’s approval to test voice services on 4G networks.
The company has recently acquired a 49 percent stake in US chipmaker Qualcomm’s 4G spectrum, permitting to launch 4G services in 8 major circles. Read more
DoT changes women helpline number from ‘167’ to ’181′
The Delhi government on Monday announced ‘167’ as the new women helpline number. But within house, the Telecom Ministry changed the number to ‘181’ saying that the new number three-digit number was easier to remember.

Nationwide Mobile Number Portability from Feb 2013: Kapil Sibal
Talking to media on Thursday the telecom minister Kapil Sibal said that Nationwide Mobile Number Portability (MNP) as predicted in the National Telecom Policy (NTP) 2012 is likely to be in place by February next year.
With the launch of nationwide MNP, mobile users can retain the same number but still they can move to another state or circle. Read more
