In an unexpected turn, after the several rounds of talks, hopes for release of IAS officer Alex Paul Menon who was abducted on April 21, brought strong as on behalf Maoists, mediators gave their acceptance to secure the safe release of Sukma District Collector Alex Paul Menon within 48 hours.

Kidnapped Sukma district collector Alex Paul Menon, an asthma patient was in very serious condition under the requirement of medicines, the Maoists messaged govt. IAS Officer, 2006 batch has been took hostage at a Chhattisgarh-Odisha border area, under the full watch by 400 armed Maoists.
After that as per information of Maoist, govt. sent medicines within few hours, through One of Maoist’s mediator and president of All India Adivasi Mahasabha Manish Kunjam.
