Three British girls arrested from Chris Gayle’s room

Twenty20 matches are always under controversy, first IPL twenty20 matches and now ICC World Twenty20. Fresh reports have said that the Sri Lankan police had arrested three British girls who were partying in West Indies’ star batsman Chris Gayle’s room early in the morning.

The West Indies Twenty20 team is staying at the luxury Cinnamon Grand hotel in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

Reports have said that the police was called after West Indies cricketers including Chris Gayle, Andre Russell, Fidel Edwards and Dwayne Smith declined to sign in the women as guests after a night out.

Later, the West Indies management apologized for the incident.

The West Indies team will play against Australia on Friday in the Semi-Finals at the Premadasa stadium, Colombo. In fact, the West Indies cricketers posted pictures of the party on Twitter.

Talking to media, Sri Lankan police official said, “At least three girls of British nationality have been arrested for unauthorised entry by the ministerial security division when they entered the hotel floor of the rooms of the West Indian cricketers.”

On the other hand, the International Cricket Council [ICC] confirmed the news but not available for comments. Reports have said that ICC’s anti-corruption wing (ACSU) is likely to look after the matter.
