An end of era with death of Shiv Sena Supremo Bal Thackeray who has died today in Mumbai at his residence Matoshree.
The 86 year old founder of Sena had been ailing from breathing problems since last week and receiving treatment at Matoshree’ in suburban Bandra East.
“Honourable Bal Thackerayji breathed his last at 3.33 pm, ” doctor Jaleel Parkar said while announcing Thackeray’s death. Chief’s death was due to cardiac- respiratory arrest, as per doctors who said to put their best effort to revive him but failed.
As Shiv Sena era death announced, more than 20,000 Shiv Sainiks had been standing outside the his house, mourning the loss with tears.
BJP condolenced over the biggest lost of nation BJP leader, Sushma Swaraj, Gujarat CM Narendra Modi and President Nitin Gadkari mourning the loss. “Full of life, Balasaheb Thackeray was an epitome of courage & valour. I am grieved to hear about his demise. May his soul rest in peace,” Modi posted on twitter.
Showing deep grief over Shri Bala Saheb Thackeray’s death, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has canceled dinner meeting with Opposition Parties which was scheduled tonight.
In 1966, Bal Thackeray who had started his journey as a cartoonist, had founded his party Shiv Sena as a new political term with a “sons of the soil” movement.
At Shivaji Park in south-central Mumbai, where 46 years ago, Sena Supremo addressed his first Dussehra rally, Balasaheb’s body will kept from ‘Matoshree’ tomorrow for funeral procession which is scheduled at 10 am.
All the Balasaheb’s lovers including Shiv Sainiks, Politicians , Bollywood Celebrities and Mumbaikars will have to pay their last respects to the patriarch from 7 am Sunday. However, Party appealed all supporters to “maintain calm and remain peaceful” and for that around 20,000 policemen, RAF coups have been deloyed in Mumbai.
