A big horrified story of a 27-year-old Sonali Mukherjee enlighten after passing long struggling nine years of her life in wake of justice, punishing those who was assaulted her with an acid attack become blind and partially deaf.
Sonali for whom in the biggest world only two best friends are – her father and God, has lost her eyes in the drastically accident that happened on the night of 22 April, 2003 in her hometown of Dhanbad, Jharkhand, a big dark came and ruined her life.
Reports said, after repeatedly asked the court and to the Jharkhand government along with various chief ministers for help during the nine year period and when all pleas fell on deaf ears, Sonali disappointed badly.
She now wants to die and has demanded euthanasia as she and her family cannot afford her medical costs of Rs. 12-15 lakhs.
“I want justice from the judiciary… I don’t want to live. At least, give me the right to die…,” the disfigured victim said who had big dream in her life to do something, to achieve something.
In the night of 22 April, three assailants, reported to be Sonali’s neighbours had entered her house and poured acid on her face while she slept. As per Sonali’s allegations, the assailants repeatedly teased and harassed her and when she opposed and warned to complain against them, she attacked with acid, reports said.
Talking to media persons, Sonali’s father, Chandi Das Mukherjee said, “We appealed in the High Court… Nothing happened. They were sent to jail but were released soon after… Now they are busy enjoying their lives…”
Shockingly, when again and again completely disfigured victim had received fresh threats, no help had been facilitated to her by govt .
“I am going through a lot… I have lost my sight… I cannot see the world around me.. My father has spent everything, his land, jewellery, to keep me alive… He sold everything,” Sonali said.
Shamefully, three assailants Tapas Mitra, Sanjay Paswan and Brahmadev Hajra are still live openly and may be assaulted other Sonalis, suffering fate of other girl.
